Cycling for Starters Class
Santa Cruz County Cycling Club (SCCCC) offers it's Cycling for Starters classes several times during the year. Anyone over the age of 18 with the ability to ride at least 5 miles is welcome to participate.
Classes are once a week over 4 or 6 weeks. Each session lasts approximately three hours and includes both on and off bike instruction.
Classes are free but you must be an SCCCC Member. JOIN here.
Participants will learn basics of: cyclist rights and responsibilities, bike handling skills, rider etiquette, group riding and bicycle types and maintenance. Each class involves discussion, demonstration, practice and coaching. We stop for a snack/coffee break during the training rides.
The first ride is less than 10 miles on flat terrain and our goal is to gradually increase to 20-25 miles with some hills by the end.
