Yesterday afternoon Keresha Durham was riding her bike home down Laurel Street hill when a car pulled out ahead of her without looking. Keresha's bike hit the car and Keresha went sliding down the asphalt on her face. It was pretty nasty and scary, she lost consciousness and got taken away in an ambulance to Dominican ER.
I visited her today after our club ride and took her to SC medical clinic to get her elbow x-rayed and her wounds looked at. I think that the news was good. Yes she is in pain and very sore. But nothing appears to be broken. Her face doesn't look too good, but it doesn't look as bad as we feared.
We don't know anything yet about the condition of her bike. I may get it together to take it to the bike shop tomorrow. The doctor thought that Keresha may be recovered enough to ride a bike again in a week. Her wounds look clean and free of infection, and the doctor thinks that her not being able to straighten her arm is just soft tissue injury/swelling that will heal enough to use her arm in a week or so.
so lets keep some loving thoughts envisioning Keresha riding and dancing and being her healthy active self real soon.
